I'm a 22 year old college student who often stays up late and has many thoughts about a number of different topics. There isn't usually anyone to talk to at 4am so I figured that this would be a good place to collect all of my ramblings

This is my official first posting for my new blog that I've titled "This Side of the Blue" after the Joanna Newsom song. I have used livejournal in the past but never had a blog from any other site, and I also stopped using the other ones quite a while ago. I thought that it was time to start again, and I hope to actually dedicate time to this.

One topic that I will probably be posting a lot about is my pets. I have three cats, three chinchillas, and four hamsters. However, the number of hamsters has just increased because my new girl, Mitsu, whom I adopted a week ago has unexpectedly had a litter! I have seen four but I know not to disturb the nest so there could be more. They are small, red, and pretty amazing and I hope that they all make it. I will have to sex them and then figure out how many to keep as I don't think I have room for them all. I will hopefully get pictures in the next two weeks, it really is incredible to think that something so small can have a heart and lungs and tiny bones. I will create a section that introduces all of my pets at a later time.

School starts in less than a week, I'm so happy that my classes are online, it's so flexible. This is my last year and then I will have my Bachelor's degree! Of course, that means that I will have to find a full time job, something that I am not looking forward to. It is tough out there, or so I've heard.

That is going to be all for tonight. It is nearly 5:30 am and I should get to sleep.
